What is #CultureMovesUs?

The Town of Innisfil is currently embarking on a Culture Master Plan, dedicated to identifying areas of investment in arts, culture, and heritage throughout the municipality. As part of the project, the town hopes to recognize strengths, gaps, and opportunities to enrich Innisfil’s quality of life and place, as well as attract new and creative talents and cultural resources.

Residents are encouraged to participate in shaping the future vision of arts and culture in our community by providing their input and ideas. Sign up to Get Involved! Keep an eye out this summer for a Town #Sharecycle. These 12 bicycles, donated by South Simcoe Police Services and jazzed up by students in the community, will be released into the wilds of Innisfil this summer with the hope that they will be borrowed and then released again for someone else to use. Using a #ShareCycle residents can play an active role in the development of Innisfil’s cultural identity and contribute to building a culturally rich and dynamic Town.

How does it work?

Grab a free #ShareCycle – a practical mode of transportation and celebration of artistic expression dedicated to connecting communities, meeting new people, and sharing stories – if you:

          … are in a hurry

… need to get from A to B

          … need the exercise

… want to experience the Town on two wheels

          … care about the environment

Enjoy your #ShareCycle and when you arrive at your destination, leave it in a prominent place for the next person to borrow. Remember to bring your own helmet and bike lamp (if using at night). They will be available August 26 to mid-October throughout Innisfil communities.

Share stories about your #ShareCycle journey around Innisfil at #CultureMovesUs via Innisfil ideaLAB Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages and watch for more ways of becoming involved in culture planning soon.
